The FDA has ordered the company that created the erectile dysfunction drug,, to pay $25 million in penalties for marketing illegal erectile dysfunction drugs, the FDA said Tuesday.

The complaint also said the company failed to disclose that Viagra contained “little to no” black box warnings about the risks of taking the drug, that it “is not an approved drug, and that the use of this drug may result in serious health consequences.”
The complaint said that the company “acted responsibly in the course of its marketing of the erectile dysfunction drug” and “engaged in a pattern of marketing that was not only illegal but also a criminal and an cruel and lengthy punishment for any illegal conduct that occurred, particularly those in the health care system.”
In addition, the complaint said, “the company engaged in a series of other criminal acts in the course of its illegal marketing of Viagra to patients in the United States and abroad.
